2 Days in Singapore
I picked up a trip as a flight attendant to Singapore and was fortunate enough to have 2 full days to explore the country. The flight is the longest one I’ve ever worked out of SFO. Luckily the long crew rest kept me going and made me want to hit the ground running as soon as I landed.
Best Time to Visit
There is a warm climate year round, but the best time to visit is February to May with the lowest amount of precipitation and humidity. November to Januray and June to July are the peak tourist months.
What to know before you Go
Don’t eat and walk! It’s culturally unacceptable to eat in public, although I heard it was super strict there and didn’t see anything out of the ordinary
The humidity is unreal and expect to sweat 24/7
pack for the tropic seriously you will sweat a lot lol
tipping isn’t accepted
Have cash and card with you
tap water is safe to drink
It is very safe
it is a very walkable city! I walked to every place I went to
it’s not the most budget friendly place, but there are cheap food options
2 Full and epic Days (What I would do if this was my first time)
Day 1:
Eat some breakfast at Toast Box! It is an affordable breakfast spot so my crew and I went out together as soon as we landed. I ordered the kaya toast which you have to have at least once! I also got tea and a pastry to go along with it.
Merlion Park has the famous fountain so it’s worth it to stop by although it was crowded when we went with everyone trying to secure a photo with it! It also has a sweet view of Marina Bay Sands
Next check out Marina Bay Sands, the famous hotel in the heart of the vibrant city. The observation deck is close by and you can pay to get to the top and eat at the restaurant. Since I am always on a budget I decided to just go inside and call that enough. The architecture is otherworldly and impressive. It almost seems fake with how insane the infrastructure is.
Take a break from the heat at Futureworld at the Artscience Museum. I honestly think this is something I would not pay for again, but for the air conditioning it was worth every penny. The exhibitions were cool, but very short and afterwards I remember thinking “that was it.” I also went at a time where there were so many school children running around and it was slightly overwhelming. There is a famous photo with the string lights so if you want to fulfill your instagram photo dreams then once again it makes it worth it.
Gardens by the Bay was one of my favorite places I went to. It truly is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. There are plentiful attractions such as the cloud forest, floral fantasy, flower dome, and the supertree observatory. I ended up splurging on the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome which was around 40USD. I also recommend walking through the entirety of the park since there truly is no other park I’ve been to that compares to this one.
The Garden Rhapsody Light Show was also a must see when visiting Singapore. They have two different show times every evening. There is one at 7:45 and 8:45 pm for the month of February. I would recommend getting there at least half an hour early because the crowds are insane!
Day 2:
Go to Chijmes and get coffee and toast at Glasshouse. Crazy Rich Asians was filmed here. It is a historic building and was originally a catholic convent. The building is stunning and even just to walk through it is worth a visit.
Walk off breakfast at Fort Canning Park Tree tunnel and take your instagram photo in the tunnel. This was one of those instagram vs reality videos because there was a half hour line just to take a few photos for a minute. I think it was worth it, but I wish I didn't go at a peak time so if you can start the day earlier than me I highly recommend it!
Go to Arab Street and see the famous Sultan Mosque . There are a ton of food options and shops around the street.
Check out Haji Lane, another culturally vast and creative street! It is known for being the most narrow street in Singapore and the go-to place for cafes and boutique shops. Eat at a local cafe or head to a market!
Hawker Centres in Chinatown for yummy food hall styled eats
Head to Level 33 Rooftop Bar for a drink and a view.
End the night at the Spectra Light Show it starts at 8 and 9 pm and 10 pm only on fridays and saturdays
Additional activities
Sky capita spring

explore the Changi Airport!
